Quality Assurance Inspection Specialist

Location: Watsonville, CA - Onsite 5 Days a week.

Salary: $31 per hour  -  $35 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY 

Reporting Quality Assurance Management, the QA Inspection Specialist is responsible for quality control, components, in-process and finished goods inspection and documentation. This position works closely with Operations and Division of Compliance, Science and Development. The role be heavily involved with documentation and data review and entry into our SAP ERP system. Working to create and ensure Nordic Natural quality standards are met at all levels of production. Comply with Nordic Naturals quality standards as well as State, Federal, and international regulations. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Quality Assurance Management.

Essential Functions Statements

• Assist with inspection, review and disposition of components, in-process and manufactured goods, including new receipt, returned and reworked materials.
• Coordinate the activities of Document Control including creation, distribution, and auditing of controlled documents associated with product components and specifications at all production levels.
• Review supplier submitted documentation against internal specifications for labels and boxes, raw materials, in-process and finished product.
• Working knowledge of food and/or dietary supplements labeling and regulations.
• Assist in FDA, CDPH, and third-party audits to meet 21 CFR Part 111.
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Computer Skills

• Must be proficient with MS Office and have advanced document editing skills in Word and Excel and/or the google suite equivalents.
• Familiarity with Smartsheet and Monday.com project management tools
• Familiarity with SAP HANA is preferred.

Other Requirements

• This position requires mandatory daily attendance at our Watsonville, CA headquarters.
• BA/BS in Biology, Chemistry or equivalent combination of education preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ product inspection or document control
• 1-3 years of experience in related field within the food, dietary supplement or related industry.
• Certificates in HACCP, PQCI or auditing a plus.
