Job Title: Quality Assurance Lab Technician
Location: 1609 Biddle Avenue, Wyandotte, MI 48192 (100% onsite)
Shift is 7pm to 7am (12-hour shifts that rotate every other week. Some weekend work with every other weekend off). Hours worked will be 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next.
EDUCATION:
- Minimum of HS Diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 1 year of manufacturing, quality, or laboratory experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic understanding of chemistry, mathematics, and statistical concepts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to learn laboratory testing methods, equipment operation, and quality systems.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent walking, standing, and stair climbing between laboratory and manufacturing areas.
- Work is performed primarily in laboratory and pilot-scale manufacturing environments.
- Potential exposure to chemicals, heat, noise, fumes, and airborne particles consistent with a manufacturing laboratory setting.
- Visual ability to read, interpret, and document laboratory data and test results.
Responsibilities:
- We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support our Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) laboratory operations on a temporary basis. This position provides laboratory testing and quality support for TPU manufacturing by performing physical, chemical, and mechanical testing of in-process and finished products, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring accurate reporting of quality data.
- The successful candidate will work closely with laboratory, production, and quality personnel to help meet customer requirements and production objectives while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
