Job Description Quality Assurance Manager Manufacturing
Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 annually
Schedule: 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving the quality management system, ensuring customer requirements are met, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong experience with ISO quality systems, aerospace or precision manufacturing, and proven leadership experience within a quality organization.
Responsibilities
Lead daily quality operations and ensure compliance with customer, industry, and internal quality requirements.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and work instructions.
Serve as the quality management representative for ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems.
Manage document control processes, including reviewing, updating, and maintaining quality documentation.
Coordinate employee training related to quality procedures and process changes.
Support production teams with quality guidance and process improvement initiatives.
Identify manufacturing risks and implement corrective actions to improve quality, safety, and efficiency.
Manage internal audits, customer audits, certification audits, and corrective action responses.
Perform root cause analysis and oversee corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
Manage nonconforming material through the Material Review Board (MRB) process.
Review quality data, identify trends, and implement improvements based on findings.
Support supplier quality initiatives and ensure incoming materials meet requirements.
Investigate and resolve customer quality issues and complaints.
Monitor inspection and testing processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
Maintain calibration schedules for measuring and testing equipment.
Provide leadership, training, and development to quality team members.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering, science, quality, or a related technical field or equivalent manufacturing quality experience .
5-7+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience as a Quality Manager, Quality Supervisor, Quality Engineer, or similar leadership role.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems .
AS9100 experience strongly preferred. Experience leading internal audits, customer audits, and certification audits.
Strong understanding of corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methods.
Experience managing nonconforming material and MRB processes.
Experience with document control, quality procedures, work instructions, and training records.
Ability to analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement process improvements.
Experience working directly with production teams, suppliers, and customers.
Previous supervisory or people-management experience, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in aerospace, precision manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
Experience managing quality inspectors or laboratory personnel.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
Work Environment
Combination of office and manufacturing-floor environment.
Regular interaction with production teams and manufacturing equipment.
Must follow required safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE while on the production floor.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility as needed.
Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and leadership teams.
Additional Requirements
Must successfully pass a background check.
