Job Description

he Aviation Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the company's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, customer requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company policies and procedures.

The Quality Manager reports directly to the Director of Quality and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control departments, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in aviation quality management, FAA Part 145 Repair Station operations, regulatory compliance, auditing, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• 
  
• Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company's Quality Management System.
• 
  
• Ensure compliance with applicable FAA regulations, including 14 CFR Part 145, and other regulatory requirements relevant to company operations.
• 
  
• Maintain and update the Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), and other required quality documentation.
• 
  
• Ensure all maintenance, repair, overhaul, and inspection activities are performed in accordance with approved or acceptable technical data and established company procedures.
• 
  
• Monitor changes in aviation regulations and industry standards to ensure continued compliance.
• 
  
• Serve as a primary point of contact for FAA representatives, regulatory agencies, customers, and external auditors regarding quality-related matters.
• 
  
• Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and record retention for aircraft components and maintenance activities.
• 
  
• Manage and provide direction to Quality Inspectors and other personnel assigned to the Quality Department.
• 
  
• Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections of aircraft components.
• 
  
• Ensure inspection procedures and processes meet regulatory, customer, and company requirements.
• 
  
• Monitor component conformity, airworthiness documentation, and maintenance records.
• 
  
• Oversee the identification, documentation, segregation, and disposition of nonconforming materials and components.
• 
  
• Ensure that calibrated tools and measuring equipment are maintained and controlled in accordance with company procedures.
• 
  
• Review quality-related discrepancies and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
• 
  
• Ensure personnel performing inspections and return-to-service functions possess the required qualifications, training, and authorizations.
• 
  

Skills and Education Experience

• 
  
• High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Management, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field preferred.
• 
  
• Minimum of 5 years of aviation maintenance, quality assurance, quality control, or related aviation industry experience preferred.
• 
  
• Previous supervisory or management experience in an aviation maintenance or repair environment preferred.
• 
  
• Experience working in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station strongly preferred.
• 
  
• Thorough knowledge of applicable FAA regulations and aviation maintenance requirements.
• 
  
• Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems.
• 
  
• Knowledge of FAA Repair Station Manuals, Quality Control Manuals, and maintenance documentation requirements.
• 
  
• Experience conducting internal audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective action investigations.
• 
  
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
• 
  
• Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• 
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• 
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and aviation maintenance or quality management software.
• 
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced aviation environment.
•

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

• Ability to travel occasionally for Shows, training, or company meetings, if required
