Quality Assurance (QA) Manager / Project Inspector

Job Summary

Responsible for providing onsite inspection, quality assurance, and construction oversight for FAA airport infrastructure projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and quality standards.

Collaborate with Construction Managers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to monitor project progress, identify deficiencies, coordinate corrective actions, and support successful project completion.

Many projects will occur outside standard business hours. The selected Project Inspector/QA Manager must be available to work one or more of the following Monday-Friday shifts, with occasional weekend and overnight work as required:

• 6:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
• 2:30 p.m.-11:30 p.m.
• 10:30 p.m.-7:30 a.m.

Note, the candidate must be a US Citizen and be able to pass and maintain a Public Trust background check.

Primary Job Functions

• Provide onsite oversight and inspection of construction
• Review completed and in-progress work for conformance with drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance and ensure quality requirements are met.
• Identify deficiencies and coordinate appropriate corrective
• Conduct quality inspections, observations, and
• Prepare daily inspection reports and provide project updates for Construction
• Maintain accurate project documentation, inspection records, photographs, and
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to resolve construction and quality issues.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential schedule, quality, or compliance
• Provide guidance and coaching to contractors and site

Perform other duties as required to support timely project delivery.

Working Conditions

• Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of OSHA standards, NFPA, Joint Commissioning and safety procedures with skills in conducting accident investigations and safety inspections.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, critical thinking skills, and proficiency with standard testing tools.
• Knowledge of recognized and generally accepted good engineering practice regulations and codes.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information and the willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Experience with Kahua is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

Travel Requirements

• Extensive travel to project sites is required. Travel may include overnight stays, nights and weekends, occasional holiday coverage, and travel between multiple project locations.
