Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Specialist 2 to support NASA Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) by performing Quality Assurance inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Min 5 years of education or experience in inspection or related field.
PC Literate
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret verbal and written instructions.
Proficiency operating test and measurement equipment and tools.
Knowledge of inspection techniques and methods required to support processing.
Must be a team player and able to work well with a variety of disciplines.
Experience in avionics and/or hardware/software integration, or process controls.
Familiarity with manufacturing/test, functions, and ability to interpret drawings.
Previous experience with NASA quality inspections.
Positions at this level require a foundation of basic skills and underlying knowledge, typically acquired through appropriate experience in inspection, manufacturing, auditing, maintenance, or similar work. This foundation includes skill in interpreting technical data, data analysis, report writing, drawings, interpreting regulations and other guideline material and a practical understanding of the role of quality assurance. Requires a high school degree or its equivalent and normally possesses 5 years of experience in quality assurance principles or as a Technician.
Knowledgeable of the assurance of quality for all phases of the mission life-cycle including design, procurement, manufacturing, auditing, assembly, testing, and operations. Knowledgeable with the basic quality assurance procedures and techniques, pertinent regulations and program requirements and quality management systems. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
