Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Field Specialist conducts field inspections and testing to verify compliance with applicable standards, engineering specifications, and customer and program requirements for in-progress and completed projects.

Essential Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  • Embrace and operate within the core values.
  • Perform on-site energy assessments for small to mid-size commercial customers; collaborate with business/building owners, developers, architects, engineers, and contractors to support quality verification for energy-efficiency projects (in progress and completed) across conservation programs.
  • Gather thorough, accurate field information and input findings into the designated program software; evaluate major sources of facility energy use, with emphasis on lighting systems and HVAC equipment.
  • Serve as a point of contact for contractors and business owners by addressing energy-efficiency questions and identifying additional opportunities to reduce energy consumption.
  • Document and deliver visit recaps that summarize findings and recommended measures; submit weekly activity updates and monitor progress toward program objectives and quality indicators.
  • Support continuous improvement of program approach, including shaping features and services; assist with rollout of marketing and outreach efforts to drive participation.
  • Plan and coordinate QA/QC work (e.g., field inspections) and communicate results, nonconformances, and discrepancies to the project team; elevate concerns when needed.
  • Ensure work meets customer specifications, engineering requirements, and company quality standards.
  • Demonstrate expertise in identifying, controlling, and dispositioning suspect or counterfeit materials.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a wide variety of work and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a daily work schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Strong data entry skills, including entering and maintaining information in tracking systems and databases.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and apply sound judgments to solve practical problems.
  • Reliable transportation.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Associates degree preferred; bachelor's degree desired.
  • Lighting and/or HVAC experience is a strong plus.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities described.
Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Travel Requirements
  • Requires a dependable personal vehicle for frequent local travel (approximately 60%-80% of work time); mileage reimbursement is provided.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls
  • The team member is frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Noise level is typically low to moderate
