    Description

     
    The Quality Assurance Supervisor is an integral part of product development, quality assurance and Tennessee Tax Bureau (TTB) compliance. Under the direction of the Director of Quality, this position will work to ensure quality procedures and quality testing are implemented and followed to ensure product and facility compliance.
     
    Job Duties and Responsibilities
     
    • Follow standard operating procedures and perform testing for production samples to ensure compliance with the established quality standards
    • Review and perform various quality control checks on production samples from distillation, blending, and bottling departments
    • Follow standard operating procedure testing to maintain sensory quality for all products
    • Ensure samples for third party evaluation are submitted and review testing results
    • Audit bottling, blending and distillation records; review documentation for accuracy and completion
    • Investigate and document nonconforming preventive and corrective actions for quality holds
    • Communicate efficiently with the appropriate parties in the event of out of specification results
    • Quickly analyze a problem and provide timely solutions to ensure a continuous flow of production
    • Perform GMP walkthroughs of warehouses, shipping/logistics, bottling/blending, and distillation/barreling per BRCGS standard
    • Perform internal audits per BRCGS standard of the facility and documented procedures
    • Perform Glass & Brittle Plastic and Food Defense/Site Security Audits per BRCGS Standard
    • Perform trainings on Food Safety and Food Quality
    • Conduct competency testing on Food Safety and Food Quality
    • Investigate, perform testing and document customer complaints
    • Understand and implement HACCP procedures and trainings
    • Assist with shipping customer samples as needed
    • Assist with maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment as needed
    • Develop and implement new quality standards and procedures to promote quality culture
    • Update and develop SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) as needed to promote quality culture
     
    Job Requirements and Qualifications
     
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science Field
    • HACCP or PCQI certification required
    • 4-5 years of Quality experience working in a GFSI Quality Standard environment
    • 1-2 years of Analytical experience in Lab/QC or in a plant environment
