Industrial Automation is an ISO 9001 and AS9100 certified manufacturer of aircraft tooling and ground support equipment, in business for over 40 years. We are currently hiring a Quality Assurance Supervisor to perform product inspection as well as oversee the quality system and quality department personnel. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits. Aircraft mechanic experience is preferred.

Position Overview
The QA Supervisor will report directly to the Management Representative. This position will perform product inspection and testing including visual, dimensional, and functional checks; prepare all certifications accompanying finished product; comply with AS9102 First Article Inspection reporting and documentation requirements; oversee and direct Receiving and In-Process Inspection; and ensure all ISO9001/AS9100 reporting and documentation are done properly according to the Quality Manual. You will be required to interface with various other departments in the company.

Compensation

Pay Range: $70,000 to $110,000 per year DOE
Hours: Monday-Friday 6:30AM-3:00PM

  • Essential Job Functions
  • Read and interpret aerospace structural drawings, including assembly requirements, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, material processing and specifications.
  • Perform in-process and final inspection of machined aircraft tooling, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies. Review specifications, drawings, and job traveler for completeness and accuracy of the product, ensuring compliance with all engineering specifications and customer requirements. Accept and/or reject material based on findings, documenting all inspection results.
  • Generate all required paperwork including dimensional records, CofC, calibration certs, etc.
  • Supervise other Quality Inspectors. Make MRB decisions in consultation with the other members of the quality department and in accordance with work instructions.
  • Oversee incoming inspection and documentation of materials, outside process, and finished goods.
  • Review purchase orders for correctness and compliance to the drawing.
  • Witness and verify proof loads are completed per drawing specifications.
  • Comprehend and adhere to the company Quality Manual.
Requirements
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • 2 years' supervisory experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience minimum in manufacturing inspection, 10 years of machine shop background.Weld inspection a plus.
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 or AS9100 certified quality system.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints. Solid understanding of assembly drawings and how details interconnect.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficient in use of hand tools for inspection, i.e. height gages, calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • High School graduation or GED required.
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Experience using computers and learning new computer systems.
  • Respect and commitment to the job and for coworkers.
  • Problem solving ability.
  • Steel or composite toe shoes complying with current revision of ASTM F-2413.
