Job Description:
- We are seeking a Quality Assurance Tech II who is a technically strong, hands-on person capable of working independently, troubleshooting issues, and debugging initial error logs.
- This individual will support robotics hardware validation, including hands-on test execution, debugging software error logs, maintaining electromechanical systems, and ensuring test infrastructure is operational.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute hands-on hardware validation tests on robotic systems, operating effectively in ambiguous environments where established test plans may not yet exist and develop and refine test approaches as the program matures
- Debug software error logs and troubleshoot hardware and software interface issues independently
- Maintain electromechanical systems, including routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and component-level repairs
- Ensure test infrastructure is operational, including robotic platforms, sensors, actuators, controllers, and supporting fixtures
- Interface with software tools to configure test environments, initiate test runs, and verify system readiness
- Interpret test results, identify anomalies, and document findings clearly
- Escalate issues to the Hardware Test Engineering team and Science team with clear, actionable documentation
- Perform root cause analysis on hardware failures and system faults
- Support system bring-up, integration testing, and commissioning of new robotic hardware
- Maintain lab organization, tool calibration, and equipment inventory
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Automation engineers to resolve system-level issues
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
- 2+ years of experience in hardware testing, electromechanical systems maintenance, or robotics operations
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret software error logs, system diagnostics, and technical documentation
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems including motors, actuators, sensors, and controllers
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced lab environment
- Proficiency with basic hand tools, electronic test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, and diagnostic software
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

- The Hardware Test Technician is the central point of contact within the Hardware Test Engineering Team, providing critical support to Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Automation teams.
- Day-to-day responsibilities include test plan execution, test fixture assembly support, data analysis, and maintenance of active test floors.
- You will be the driving force that keeps operations running smoothly and ensures the team delivers high-quality results consistently.
Purpose of the Team and key projects
- We are looking for a skilled and driven Quality Assurance Tech II to join our team. Looking for someone with experience with Electronical, Mechanical and Sofware & Hardware experience.
- The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a natural problem-solver, and someone who takes pride in the details. In this role, you will collaborate closely with different teams to support the integrity of our production environment.
- Throughout the development lifecycle, you will identify use cases, design and execute test cases, and deliver clear, actionable results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, repair, and calibration of test equipment and test fixtures
- Set up and execute tests, experiments, and verification activities for system components
- Conduct sway table proficiency testing across multiple pod configurations and design iterations to simulate lifespan and validate structural integrity
- Perform daily observation, inspection, and strain gauge monitoring of pods under duress to identify hardware stress points
- Create, execute, and maintain test cases, test plans, and test documentation
- Collect, analyze, and deliver test data; author formal test reports
- Provide structured test feedback to cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements
- Partner with internal teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and process issues
- Support design and test engineers during prototype builds and development phases
- Handle confidential information with a high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion

- Strong electro-mechanical aptitude with familiarity in tools and measurement devices

Degree/ Certification Requirements :
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical testing environments
- Minimum 3 years of experience in hardware testing, validation, or reliability engineering
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, Arduino, SOLIDWORKS, and Fusion 360
- Demonstrated ability to independently execute complex test plans with minimal oversight
- Strong electro-mechanical aptitude with proficiency in tools, measurement devices, and data acquisition systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
