Packaging / Manufacturing Technician

Pay: $20.00–$22.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Location: Bristol, RI
Duration: 4-month contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Packaging / Manufacturing Technician to support a specialized packaging department responsible for the final inspection and packaging of products prior to shipment.

This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to follow written work instructions, visual aids, and customer-specific packaging requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and screen products according to Quality Department requirements.

• Weigh, count, clean, and package products according to work instructions and visual aids.

• Record information accurately on work orders and inspection reports.

• Identify, document, and report product or process issues.

• Read and follow work order routings and packaging instructions.

• Enter material, inventory, and work order transactions into the QAD system.

• Verify inventory transactions and packing slip information for accuracy.

• Maintain inventory of departmental supplies and assist with replenishment.

• Complete cycle counts as requested.

• Complete documentation for non-conforming products, including DMRs.

• Work with management and team leads to prioritize orders and meet customer due dates.

• Read, interpret, and verify work instructions for accuracy.

• Assist with creating or updating visual aids and controlled work instructions.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

• 3+ years of manufacturing experience preferred, particularly in a quality, inspection, or packaging environment.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Experience with product inspection and precision measuring equipment such as calipers, CMMs, or height stands preferred.

• Experience with QAD or another ERP/inventory system is a plus.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.

• Dependable attendance and reliability.

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
