Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician | Food Production

Target Pay Rate: $20–$24/hour

Work Schedule: 3rd Shift, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM
Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Technician will perform testing and inspections on food products, ingredients, packaging, and production lines to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards. This role will conduct routine quality checks, communicate concerns to production and other departments, and maintain accurate records. Approximately 90% of the role will be spent performing quality testing on the production floor.
Must Have Skills:
- Food manufacturing or quality assurance experience preferred
- Knowledge of GMP and food safety practices
- Experience performing product testing and inspections
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to use QA testing equipment including scales, calipers, rulers, metal detectors, and X-ray test pieces
Job Duties:
- Perform routine quality and food safety checks on production lines and document results
- Inspect product weights, measurements, packaging, labels, date codes, and shelf life
- Test incoming ingredients and production products for quality standards
- Conduct gluten and allergen testing as required
- Perform pre-op inspections following sanitation activities
- Conduct daily GMP inspections
- Test, maintain, and calibrate QA instruments and equipment
- Pull product retains for shelf life, sensory, and production validation programs
- Communicate quality or food safety concerns promptly to production and other departments
- Complete required documentation and shift reports
- Support additional QA responsibilities and training as skills develop
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Food manufacturing, bakery, quality assurance, or related experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow established quality, food safety, and GMP procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Willingness to learn additional QA testing and production line responsibilities
