Quality Business Partner

Position Purpose:

Provides support and oversight for key quality initiatives for the Hospital under the direction of the Regional Vice President of Clinical Quality Management. Serves as a liaison between the Clinical Quality Management Areas of Expertise (AoE) and resources for the Hospital in the delivery of the Clinical Quality services to assigned Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support and oversight for key quality initiatives for the Hospital under the direction of the Regional Vice President of Clinical Quality Management. Serves as a liaison between the Clinical Quality Management Areas of Expertise (AoE) and resources for the Hospital in the delivery of the Clinical Quality services to assigned Hospital.
  • Collaborates with the Hospital executive team and site leadership to align and facilitate the annual MCHS Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement plan and the Trinity Health quality and patient safety priorities and initiatives to ensure the efficient and effective delivery and performance of clinical quality programs and activities; recommends and implements changes to existing initiatives, processes, policies and services and/or the need to develop locally-defined programs and initiatives, as appropriate; collaborates with site leadership to direct, lead and measure efforts and initiatives to improve clinical quality and patient safety.
  • Manages all aspects of the Hospital Clinical Quality programs, services and initiatives at the direction of the Regional Director and Regional Vice President of Clinical Quality Management, and in collaboration with the Triad and site leadership to understand, analyze and develop annual Clinical Quality strategic priorities, supporting service strategy and related action plan(s).
  • Provides leadership to the Hospital Quality and Safety Committee related to clinical quality. Keeps the Hospital executive team (Triad) apprised of key quality and patient safety issues that arise within the RHM. Consults and works collaboratively with the Risk Management division related to potential risk involved.
  • Collaborates with Hospital leadership to recommend and implement changes to existing Clinical Quality and Patient Safety strategies, programs, and policies and procedures necessary to support the regional Clinical Quality and Patient Safety strategy. Participates in determining locally-defined quality programs and services, as appropriate.
  • Recommends and guides education of colleagues and physicians related to advancing quality performance excellence.
  • Educates, encourages and supports colleagues and physicians in their understanding and role related to their impact on clinical quality and patient safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Quality Improvement, Performance Excellence, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • Licensure / Certification: Nursing education track requires licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Current Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively more responsibility in clinical and/or quality leadership experience and a broad based knowledge of clinical quality functional areas including, clinical quality processes, performance excellence, statistical clinical data analytics and integrity, clinical data abstraction and measurement, patient safety practices, quality payment reform programs and quality regulatory/accreditation requirements.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical or quality managerial and supervisory experience in an acute care setting preferred.
