Quality Inspector / CMM Inspector – Aerospace

Schedule: 1st & 2nd Shift Openings

There is 1 opening on 1st shift, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, and 6 openings on 2nd shift, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM. All training begins on first shift before employees transition to their assigned second-shift schedule. Voluntary overtime may be available on weekends and potentially during the week with prior approval.
Additional Requirements
Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person (Green Card Holder). This is a fully onsite contract position that may be extended. The Fairfield facility handles ejection-seat products and explosives, and ATF paperwork is completed on the employee's first day. Due to the nature of the work, employees may not have access to cell phones, watches, or key fobs during certain work periods.
Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Quality Inspectors and CMM Programmer/Operators to support aerospace manufacturing operations in Fairfield, CA. These positions are responsible for inspecting incoming materials, precision components, assemblies, and finished products to ensure they meet engineering drawings, specifications, purchase order requirements, and applicable quality standards.
Candidates should have strong experience reading engineering drawings and GD&T, performing dimensional inspections, using precision measurement equipment, and documenting inspection results.
Several openings require hands-on CMM programming and operation experience
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Perform dimensional and visual inspections of mechanical components, piece parts, assemblies, materials, and finished products.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and GD&T requirements.
Use precision inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, Smart Scope/vision measurement systems, and other measurement tools.
Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) and review applicable certifications and supplier documentation.
Verify Certificates of Conformance, material certifications, special-process certifications, and other quality documentation.
Accurately document inspection results and maintain inspection and quality records.
Identify and document nonconforming material and support the appropriate nonconformance process.
Work with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve inspection discrepancies.
Maintain traceability and proper control of accepted, rejected, and quarantined material.
Support quality audits and continuous improvement activities.
For CMM Programmer/Operators:
Determine inspection requirements from engineering and customer drawings.
Create, edit, and validate CMM programs.
Perform dimensional inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines.
Apply GD&T requirements during detailed part inspection.
Maintain and report inspection data.
Support calibration activities.
Train or assist team members with CMM programming and operation.
Experience with CMM Manager software or equivalent is required.
TSPACE Plus Portable Measuring Arm programming/operation experience is preferred

Qualifications
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Approximately 3–5 years of mechanical, dimensional, receiving, manufacturing quality, or related inspection experience for Receiving Inspector openings.
4–8 years of CMM inspection experience for CMM-focused openings.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Working knowledge of GD&T.
Hands-on experience with precision measurement and inspection equipment.
Experience with FAI and certification/documentation review.
Ability to work independently while maintaining strong attention to detail and inspection accuracy.
Aerospace, defense, automotive, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing experience is preferred.
Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, AS9102, SAP Quality Management, AQL sampling, Skip Lot inspection, or MRB/nonconforming material processes is a plus.
