Connect Staffing is hiring a Quality/CMM Operator in Houston, TX, supporting a manufacturing company. You'll mainly be inspecting and measuring precision-drilling components to ensure they meet engineering specifications and qualitystandards using CMM equipment.

Pay: $25-28/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:00 PM-5:30 AM (Overnight shift)

Location: Houston, TX

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Work Environment: Warehouse/Manufacturing facility

Overtime: Yes, overtime available

Minimum Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality control, inspection, or CMM operation
  • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, specifications, and blueprints
  • Experience programming or modifying CMM inspection routines and generating inspection reports using CMM software
  • Experience with gauges and precision measuring instruments (Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Dial Indicators).
  • Proficient in interpreting Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and applying precision measurement standards
  • Basic computer skills, including manufacturing software and database software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with CMM software (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar)
  • Familiarity with word processing software, design software, and order processing systems
  • Experience training or mentoring team members
  • Experience in collecting, analyzing, and reporting measurement data using SPC and quality control tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Background in manufacturing or production environments

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and organize daily workload at the start of every shift
  • Delegate tasks and set deadlines for CMM Operators and CMM Clerks
  • Monitor production flow and identify where work is needed
  • Inspect products to ensure compliance with order specifications and quality standards
  • Measure angular dimensions, radii, contours, clearances, thread lead, and surface finish
  • Verify the accuracy of gauges and measuring instruments for conformance to specifications
  • Prepare labor cards, job tickets, and other reports and records for the assigned area
