Responsible for ensuring that strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries maintain optimal freshness, temperature, and quality from receipt to shipment. This role involves inspecting products upon arrival, monitoring cold storage conditions, conducting daily slot checks, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Inbound & Outbound Inspections: Perform visual inspections of incoming berries for decay, mold, bruising, firmness, color, and size, adhering to customer specifications and USDA standards.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate, detailed records of inspections, temperature logs, and quality reports using warehouse management systems (WMS) or, in some cases, digital tools like "Fresh Check".
- Defect Management: Identify and isolate compromised products, initiate hold procedures, and report issues to sales or operations teams.
- Lifting: Capable of lifting 2050 lbs regularly (e.g., lifting flats of berries for inspection).
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to detect subtle defects in fruit and discrepancies in paperwork.
