Summary

The Quality Control Chemist / Lab Technician performs chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical raw materials and finished products using internally developed and compendial test methods. Implements validated analytical methods to evaluate product strength, impurities, and identity using spectroscopy, traditional quantitative and wet chemical analysis, and chromatography. Ensures accurate documentation, compliance with GMP/GLP requirements, and timely communication of analytical results and non-routine issues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical raw material samples using internally developed and compendial test methods.
• Implement validated test methods for pharmaceutical raw materials and finished products to evaluate strength, impurities, and identity using spectroscopy, traditional quantitative analysis, wet chemical testing, and chromatography.
• Recognize and report out-of-specification (OOS), unexpected results, and non-routine analytical or product problems; recommend appropriate solutions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation as needed.
• Clearly and accurately communicate testing activities, analytical procedures, and results.
• Record and report analytical results in accordance with established laboratory procedures and systems.
• Communicate effectively with outside departments regarding testing, analytical results, and laboratory activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including analytical instrumentation and testing materials.
• Perform all duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and safety guidelines.
• Maintain the required compliance status in accordance with company and facility standards.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Science in Chemistry or Biochemistry is required.
• No prior professional experience required.
• Familiarity with common Microsoft Office software and chromatographic data acquisition systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong independent/autonomous problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to follow established laboratory procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
