Quality Control Inspector 1st Shift
Industry: Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing
Seeking a Quality Control Inspector responsible for receiving, in-process, and final inspections of raw materials, machined parts, and assemblies, ensuring compliance with engineering documents, customer requirements, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Strong GD&T knowledge; review drawings per ASME Y14.5
Inspect raw materials, castings, and finished vendor parts
Perform first-article and in-process inspections
Inspect completed parts and verify assemblies before release
Ensure compliance with customer requirements (packaging, marking, etc.)
Verify calibration of measuring equipment
Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gages, optical comparator, surface plates, etc.
Compare measurements to drawings for acceptability
Prepare reject reports and maintain inspection/vendor records
Verify documentation from machine shop, assembly, and vendors
Work with production to prioritize jobs
Qualifications
35 years Quality Control experience (manufacturing preferred)
High school diploma + machining/inspection training
Knowledge of machine shop and inspection practices
Blueprint reading and interpretation
Knowledge of military and commercial standards
Experience with assemblies and sub-assemblies
Ability to measure tight tolerances (±0.0001")
Strong organization and scheduling skills
