The Quality Control Inspector plays a key role in ensuring product quality and compliance by performing inspections and testing on-site for finished goods, in-process materials, and raw materials. This position coordinates external laboratory testing, reviews production and filling records for accuracy and legibility in line with current good manufacturing practices (GMP), performs swabbing for cleaning and sanitization verification, and confirms that all production activities in weighing, compounding, and filling meet established standards. The Quality Control Inspector regularly reports project and quality status updates to site leadership and supports continuous improvement of quality processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all assigned Quality Control inspection activities, including in-process and final QC inspections, work-in-progress (WIP) inspections, packaging inspections, and raw material inspections in accordance with established procedures.
  • Conduct first article inspections and line clearance inspections on packaging lines to ensure equipment and materials are properly set up and ready for production.
  • Perform pre-weigh line clearance inspections prior to compounding and batching to verify that the work area is clean, organized, and free of previous product or materials.
  • Inspect compounding and filling equipment for proper cleaning and sanitization, ensuring compliance with established cleaning procedures and standards.
  • Maintain retained finished goods, bulk, and raw material sample storage, including organizing samples and accurately updating associated logbooks.
  • Coordinate and arrange finished product microbiological and other specialized testing with external laboratories, ensuring samples and documentation are complete and accurate.
  • Collect product and material samples for testing, manage their storage and distribution, and ensure prompt and accurate shipping of samples to customers and external laboratories.
  • Perform scale verification checks during first article release to confirm measurement accuracy prior to production runs.
  • Initiate and lead non-conformance reports, support investigative work, and assist in identifying root causes and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Perform laboratory testing on bulk and finished products as required, following established test methods and documenting results accurately.
  • Manage storage and cataloging of hardcopy batch records and packaging records, ensuring documentation is complete, organized, and easily retrievable.
  • Conduct and document environmental bioburden testing, particle testing, and cleaning validations for compounding and packaging equipment, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide backup support for incoming inspection of component packaging and raw materials, including testing and documentation as needed.
  • Conduct training as needed on quality control procedures, inspection methods, and related topics to support team competency and compliance.
  • Support all safety initiatives at the site by following safety procedures, identifying potential hazards, and promoting a safe work environment.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, organizing, and maintaining documentation relevant to Quality Control inspection activities.
  • Work under minimal supervision while managing assigned tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high quality standards.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with production, quality, and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support smooth operations.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Word and Excel.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a quality-related role.
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills to manage samples, records, and inspection activities.
  • Good communication and interaction skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures accurately.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as scheduled to support production and quality needs.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills to identify issues, evaluate options, and support corrective actions.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English clearly and accurately.
  • Ability to properly use standard inspection equipment such as calipers, thickness gauges, and other measurement gauges.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and apply information contained in technical documentation, procedures, and drawings, including basic geometric tolerances.
  • Capability to perform job-related tasks associated with using mechanical and/or electrical pallet jacks to move pallets and skids, with appropriate documented training.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical degree is a plus and can enhance understanding of manufacturing and quality processes.
  • ASQ (American Society for Quality) Quality Certification is a plus and demonstrates a strong foundation in quality principles and practices.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus and can support effective communication in a diverse workforce.

This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
