Quality Control Inspector
DZYNE Technologies is building a highly skilled team that thrives in the creation of new air and ground vehicles. The candidate will work in a manufacturing environment where projects are expected to meet rigorous quality expectations. The successful candidate will have a key role in our manufacturing environment; as a Quality Control Inspector, the candidate will always be on the floor and will have a direct impact on quality processes. This person is responsible for ensuring that all electrical, electromechanical, and avionics components are fabricated, installed, and integrated into the aircraft in compliance with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and AS9100 standards. This role involves performing detailed receiving inspections, in-process, and final inspections, including visual inspections of wire routing, clamping, connector integrity, and continuity checks. The inspector is responsible for accepting or rejecting assemblies, documenting non-conformities, and verifying that all LRU and harness integrations meet airworthiness requirements prior to final flight release.
Required Duties and Responsibilities
- Receiving Inspection: Inspect incoming material ranging from raw materials to complex assemblies, Customer Furnished Products (CFP), and Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) parts.
- LRU & Harness Inspection: Inspect electrical harnesses and LRU components for proper routing, shielding, connector pinning, and securing to prevent chafing or damage. Inspection of solder joints and crimps to IPC-A-620 Standards.
- Integration Inspection: Perform inspections on the integration of wiring and LRU assemblies into the aircraft structure, ensuring proper clamping, separation of power and signal lines, and grounding.
- Final Acceptance: Conduct final inspections (FOD checks) and perform functional tests (continuity, torque) on installed systems.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain inspection and material records in digital formats using SharePoint and filing hard copy records.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Precision Measurement Tools: Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, bore gauges, dial indicators, inclinometers, spectrometers, and multimeters.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Documentation Review: Experience verifying Certificates of Conformance (CofC), material certificates, heat treat/plating reports, and inspection records to ensure traceability.
- Quality Standards & Compliance: Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management Systems (QMS), AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements, and ISO 9001.
- Non-Conformance Processing: Ability to identify defects, initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), handling non-conforming materials and storing into designated Quarantine areas.
- Computer Skills: Proficient with computers and knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat PDF.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
- IPC Certification: Preferred certifications include IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies), IPC-J-STD-001 (Soldering Requirements), and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies)
- Advanced Inspection Techniques: Experience operating PCMM (Portable Coordinate Measuring Machine) and/or CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and navigating associated software
- GD&T: Expert knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5M
- RCCA: Working experience with Root Cause/Corrective Action systems.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to focus on small, intricate details over extended periods.
- Experience with ESD Control, Calibration Recall, and performing Audits are a plus.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years in aerospace quality inspection, specifically focusing on wire harnesses, avionics, machined and/or electro-mechanical assemblies

Hourly Rate
$40.00-$45.00 per hour Hourly rate depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
