Quality Control Inspector / CMM Programmer

Konik is partnering with a growing industrial automation manufacturer seeking a Quality Inspector/CMM-VMM Programmer to support precision inspection, first-article inspections, and production quality initiatives. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys working independently, programming inspection equipment, troubleshooting measurement routines, and partnering with engineering and quality teams to improve inspection accuracy and efficiency.
The Quality Inspector / CMM-VMM Programmer will work with CAD models, drawings, and specifications to develop and execute inspection routines using CMM, VMM, and manual measurement tools. This position plays an important role in ensuring that parts meet dimensional, tolerance, and quality requirements throughout production and first-article inspection processes.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve CAD models, drawings, and specifications from internal databases to support inspection planning and execution.
- Program Zeiss CMM touch probe and vision inspection routines using Calypso software on both online and offline systems.
- Program Micro Vu VMM inspection routines and support inspection programming using In Spec software.
- Perform first article and production part inspections using CMM, VMM, calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, and other precision measurement tools.
- Export inspection results into QC Calc reporting software and create accurate inspection documentation.
- Troubleshoot and update existing inspection programs to support drawing revisions, process changes, and inspection improvements.
- Develop fixtures for general inspection needs, first article reports, and specialized measurement requests from production.
- Communicate with engineering, quality, and production teams regarding drawing updates, inspection methods, results, and discrepant material.
- Train inspectors on established VMM and CMM programs, as well as programming within In Spec software.
- Create Non-Conforming Material Reports for discrepant parts and support ongoing process/procedure documentation updates.
- Assist with inspection equipment maintenance and other quality-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of programming experience with VMM and CMM software.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
- Experience using inspection software to export and report inspection data.
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, and related hand tools.
- Ability to write efficient CMM and VMM programs with limited direction and within production timelines.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.
- General proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with inspectors, quality control personnel, engineers, and production teams.
Preferred qualifications include an associate degree in electronics, engineering, metrology, or a related field; Certified Quality Inspector designation; formal metrology training; and 7+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and complete assisted lifts up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push or pull containers using a pallet jack.
- Periodic bending and stooping required.
- Ability to sit at a computer or inspection equipment for up to one hour at a time.
