Description

Our client, a precision manufacturing company, is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for a contract assignment at their Norwalk, Connecticut facility. This role is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished goods to ensure they meet engineering drawings, tolerances, and customer specifications.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments and a solid understanding of quality control documentation. This is a hands-on, floor-based role working closely with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve nonconformances before they affect shipments.

This is a contract position with the potential for extension based on business needs and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming raw materials and components against purchase order specifications
  • Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections on manufactured parts
  • Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment to verify dimensions
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
  • Identify nonconforming material and initiate corrective action reports
  • Collaborate with production staff to resolve quality issues on the line
  • Maintain calibration schedules for inspection tools and equipment
  • Support internal and customer audits with accurate documentation

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, technical certification a plus
  • 2 or more years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including calipers and micrometers
  • Experience with CMM equipment preferred
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills
  • Ability to stand and perform inspection tasks for extended periods
