    TruBlu HR Solutions is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector for an oilfield manufacturing facility in Odessa, TX. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience performing dimensional, visual, and thread inspections on machined oilfield components, drill pipe, or related products.

    This position is responsible for ensuring manufactured and customer-owned components meet applicable API, premium connection, engineering, and customer specifications before being released. Experience with API threading procedures and rotary shoulder connections is strongly preferred.

    The QC Inspector must be comfortable working independently, accurately documenting inspection results, identifying non-conforming products, and assisting in other areas of the shop or office when Quality Control workload is slow.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform dimensional, visual, and thread inspections on manufactured and customer-owned components.
    • Inspect threads, seals, shoulders, connections, and machined surfaces for accuracy and defects.
    • Verify products meet applicable API, premium connection, engineering drawing, and customer requirements.
    • Use precision inspection equipment including:
      • Calipers
      • Micrometers
      • Ring gauges
      • Plug gauges
      • Lead gauges
      • Taper gauges
      • Profile gauges
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, thread specifications, tolerances, and inspection procedures.
    • Perform inspections on rotary shoulder connections when applicable.
    • Document inspection measurements and results accurately.
    • Maintain proper part identification, traceability, and quality documentation throughout the inspection process.
    • Identify, document, and properly segregate non-conforming materials or products.
    • Communicate quality concerns to the Lead Inspector, Quality Manager, supervisors, and production personnel.
    • Assist with investigating and resolving quality issues and discrepancies.
    • Verify measuring and inspection equipment is being used properly and remains in acceptable working condition.
    • Maintain an organized inspection area and follow established 5S standards.
    • Follow all company safety policies, quality procedures, and work instructions.
    • Assist with general shop, production, material-handling, or office duties when the QC department is slow.

    Required Qualifications

    • Previous Quality Control / Quality Inspection experience in an oilfield, machining, CNC, manufacturing, pipe, or similar industrial environment.
    • Hands-on experience performing dimensional and visual inspections.
    • Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and thread gauges.
    • Ability to inspect machined threads, seals, and surfaces.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
    • Strong understanding of inspection procedures and quality requirements.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document inspection findings.
    • Ability to identify defects and non-conforming products.
    • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with production and quality personnel.
    • Must be dependable and willing to assist in other areas of the facility when needed.
    • Must be available to work overtime and weekends as production demands require.

    Preferred Experience

    • Rotary shoulder connection knowledge strongly preferred
    • API thread inspection experience
    • Drill pipe or oilfield tubular experience
    • CNC machining or machine shop inspection experience
    • Premium connection inspection experience
    • Oilfield manufacturing or pipe repair experience

    Work Requirements

    • Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
    • Must be flexible for overtime and weekend work
    • Steel-toe boots required
    • Must be comfortable working in an industrial/shop environment
