Position Description

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing the final inspection of optics using visual, dimensional, and specialized optical measurement equipment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1-2 years experience preferred.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Basic math skills to include decimals, unit conversions, standard, and metric.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Essential Functions

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspection of optics using the following instruments along with the unaided eye:
  • Scratch-dig paddle
  • Automated surface quality inspection scopes
  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Coordinate measurement machine
  • Specialized optical measurement tools
  • Specialized cleaning of optics using manual methods as well as operation of ultrasonic cleaning equipment to facilitate inspection processes as described above.
  • Segregate and control discrepant material.
  • Generate, approve, and store quality documents such as inspection reports, certificates of compliance, interferograms, and customer specified documentation.
  • Cleaning of assigned work area and additional duties as delegated by management, including but not limited to specialized processing methods for finished optics, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and needed.
