Position Description
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing the final inspection of optics using visual, dimensional, and specialized optical measurement equipment.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 1-2 years experience preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Basic math skills to include decimals, unit conversions, standard, and metric.
- Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Essential Functions
- Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspection of optics using the following instruments along with the unaided eye:
- Scratch-dig paddle
- Automated surface quality inspection scopes
- Micrometers
- Calipers
- Coordinate measurement machine
- Specialized optical measurement tools
- Specialized cleaning of optics using manual methods as well as operation of ultrasonic cleaning equipment to facilitate inspection processes as described above.
- Segregate and control discrepant material.
- Generate, approve, and store quality documents such as inspection reports, certificates of compliance, interferograms, and customer specified documentation.
- Cleaning of assigned work area and additional duties as delegated by management, including but not limited to specialized processing methods for finished optics, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned and needed.
