Job Title: Quality Control Inspector
Location: Rochester, NY

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join a growing plastics manufacturing company in the Rochester area. This role is responsible for performing inspections, maintaining quality records, conducting audits, and ensuring products meet customer and company specifications. The ideal candidate has experience with quality inspections, measurement tools, and interpreting engineering drawings in a manufacturing environment. This position offers the opportunity to transition into a permanent role based on performance and business needs.

Pay Rate:

  • $20.00 - $23.00/Hour (Based On Exp.)

Shift:

  • A Shift | Monday – Friday | 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, optical equipment, profilometers, and other measuring devices
  • Conduct first-piece, in-process, and changeover inspections to verify product quality
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming materials and initiate hold procedures when necessary
  • Execute reaction plans when quality issues are identified
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation
  • Review traceability, labeling, and raw material status requirements
  • Conduct process and product audits to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement and customer issue resolution activities
  • Perform incoming inspections and dock audits as required
  • Complete non-conforming material reports and communicate quality concerns to appropriate personnel
  • Support internal and external audits as needed
  • Follow all quality system procedures, safety policies, and company standards

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree, Technical Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • 1–2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, control plans, and GD&T
  • Understanding of SPC data and control charts
  • Experience identifying process trends and supporting quality improvements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Minitab, SQC Pack, or similar quality software is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Manufacturing and office environment
  • Frequent standing, walking, and use of inspection equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Strong visual acuity, including close vision and color differentiation
  • Must be able to maintain accurate records and inspections throughout the shift
