The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on role that works closely with production teams to identify, document, and resolve quality issues while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspections on incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products to verify compliance with quality standards and engineering requirements.
Document inspection results accurately and maintain complete quality records.
Process and manage quality documentation, including process tags, rework tags, and nonconforming material reports.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to investigate quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions.
Conduct routine audits of manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to quality control procedures and work instructions.
Utilize standard mechanical and electrical inspection equipment, functional gauges, test rigs, and measurement instruments.
Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and applicable standards, including AS9100 and AS9120.
Review and interpret Material Test Reports, Inspection Data Results, and Certificates of Conformance/Performance.
Perform regular floor presence and inspections; this role is not limited to desk work.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in quality control or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerance requirements.
Working knowledge of inspection tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and weight scales.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Teams, for daily documentation and communication.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is strongly preferred but not required.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
