QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Quality Control Inspector plays a critical role in maintaining Kwik Lok's product quality standards, primarily through approving incoming materials and in-process productions. This position also ensures proper flow and allocation of parts used in our Assembly and Production processes. This is a great position for someone who likes to be involved in a variety of activities, has a keen eye for detail, and has an interest in mechanical or electrical machine assembly. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
INCOMING COMPONENTS
- Receive, inspect, and label the work of outside processors and purchased parts to verify compliance, completeness, and accuracy in accordance with P.O., vendor certifications, drawing requirements, applicable specifications, and part tolerances
- Identify, investigate, and document nonconformance of materials, hardware, tools, and tool assemblies to specification, processes and procedures
- Follow the QA process for parts that fail QA inspection, process RMAs
- Work with vendors to solve QC issues
RECORDKEEPING
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting quality data into ERP database and written records
- Record inspection results as required both on written records and computer database
- Ensure that appropriate revisions of drawings, Engineering changes, specifications and other documents are being used by the shop and inspection
INVENTORY
- Replenish and organize stock in a FIFO manner
- Assist in cycle counting and inventory verifications
- Maintain good housekeeping in the receiving area and warehouse including the cardboard baler
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient in inspection and quality disciplines
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)
- Knowledge and hands-on experience working with various inspection and measurement tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.)
- Forklift certified, or can obtain forklift certification within 3 months of hire
- Demonstrated accuracy, legibility, and organization of written records
- Basic knowledge of mathematics
- Familiarity with ERP systems a plus
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background screening

- Pay scale: $23.62 – $26.08 an hour
- Insurance Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription, Life and Disability Insurance plans (60 day waiting period)
- Retirement Benefits: 401K Plan with company match (90 day waiting period - restrictions apply)
- Paid Time Off: (90 day waiting period, prorated for first year)

- Vacation: 120 hours a year, with increases based on years of service
- Holidays: 70 hours a year (8.5 days): 1 Floating Holiday, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following, half day on Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day
- Sick Leave: 40 hours a year, accrued at 1 hour per 40 hours worked for hourly employees, salary employees prorated for first year
- Other Compensation: Employees may be eligible for annual performance bonuses
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm
- Location: Yakima, Washington
- Work environment: Manufacturing environment.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit, stand, bend, or crouch for the duration of an 8-hour shift. Occasionally bends, squats, reaches, kneels, and may lift up to 30 lbs. on occasion. Constantly seeing, hearing, talking. Must be competent in operation and reading of digital and dial measurement instruments.
