Job Description

This entry-level Quality Control (QC) Laboratory Technician role supports a growing team in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment. You will perform routine raw material testing and assist with analytical work in both Raw Materials QC and Chemistry laboratories. This position is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to build hands-on laboratory experience, gain exposure to pharmaceutical quality processes, and grow within a highly regulated setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine testing of raw materials, including Total Organic Carbon (TOC), conductivity, and basic analytical assays.
• Support the Chemistry laboratory by performing routine assay testing as needed.
• Help increase testing throughput and support a growing volume of raw material and chemistry samples.
• Work within a sample scheduling system to organize and manage daily and weekly testing workload.
• Execute testing in alignment with team priorities, timelines, and established laboratory procedures.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant documentation in accordance with GMP standards.
• Collaborate closely with QC and Chemistry teams to ensure testing needs and timelines are met.
• Participate in monthly team meetings and engagement activities to support communication and continuous improvement.
• Follow laboratory safety practices and adhere to all relevant quality and compliance requirements.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a related scientific discipline.
• Previous academic chemistry laboratory experience with hands-on experimental work.
• Proficient pipetting skills and familiarity with wet chemistry techniques.
• Experience or coursework exposure to TOC (Total Organic Carbon) testing and basic analytical assays.
• Ability to work accurately within a GMP-regulated environment and follow written procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining precise laboratory records.
• Ability to manage workload using a sample scheduling system and meet established timelines.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a laboratory team.

Work Environment

You will work in a QC testing laboratory within a large pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The environment is fast-paced and lab-based, with variable sample volumes. Typical workload includes approximately 30-40 samples per week for TOC and conductivity testing, with peak periods reaching several hundred samples per week. Testing runs typically include 40-50 samples per run, and the workload is shared across a collaborative and diverse team. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for a 40-hour work week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. This is a Contract position based out of Sanford, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
