Quality Control Lead – Tanker Manufacturing

$33–$38/Hour | First Shift | Dover, Ohio

We're looking for a Quality Control Lead to join our growing manufacturing team near Dover, Ohio. This is a first-shift opportunity offering competitive pay, long-term stability, and the chance to help build some of the industry's highest-quality tanker trucks. Qualifications
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in aluminum cargo tanks manufacturing or a closely related heavy fabrication environment.
  • Experience and technical knowledge necessary to inspect, evaluate, and sign off completed units.
  • Strong understanding of tank trailer manufacturing processes, fabrication techniques, and quality standards.
  • Strong welding background preferred.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and welding documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to identify quality concerns and effectively communicate corrective actions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Basic computer skills required for documentation and reporting purposes.
What You'll Do
  • As the Quality Control Lead, you'll be the driving force behind maintaining exceptional quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
  • Lead daily quality inspections throughout the tanker manufacturing process.
  • Ensure all products meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and industry standards.
  • Perform final inspections before shipment.
  • Identify quality issues and work with Production and Engineering to implement corrective actions.
  • Lead root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain quality documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports.
  • Coach and mentor production employees on quality expectations and best practices.
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with company quality systems.
  • Drive a culture focused on safety, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
? Experience in tanker truck manufacturing is required.
Ideal candidates will have:
  • Previous Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience within tanker truck manufacturing.
  • Strong blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation skills.
  • Experience performing dimensional and final inspections.
  • Knowledge of welding, fabrication, pressure vessels, or heavy equipment manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems and inspection procedures.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership experience or the desire to step into a lead role.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across Production, Engineering, and Management.
