    Description

    Job Summary:

    The Quality Control Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and documenting the Quality Control program on federal construction projects. This includes leading QC meetings, performing and documenting three-phase inspections, reviewing submittals for compliance, coordinating testing, tracking deficiencies, and ensuring all work meets contract specifications, applicable codes, and VA quality standards. A senior representative of Venergy onsite.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Leads and documents quality control meetings with the project team, subcontractors, and government representatives.
    • Coordinates with superintendents and craft supervisors on quality and safety issues.
    • Acts as Site Superintendent and/or Site Safety and Health Officer in the absence of designate individual.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Collaborates with engineers and architects to understand project specifications.
    • Reviews all submittals for compliance with specifications and drawings.
    • Ensures necessary permits and licenses.
    • Monitors project progress and communicates with stakeholders.
    • Contributes to project planning and development.
    • Supports project coordination and management.
    • Tracks and reports on project progress.
    • Consults with the Project Manager to ensure deadlines are met.
    • Creates digital operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals and maintains "as-built" drawings.
    • Scans and archives digitalize blueprints and schematics.
    • Monitors equipment and materials on multiple sites for compliance with specifications and submittals.
    • Ensures adherence to health and safety standards and documents issues.
    • Emphasizes safe use of tools and equipment; performs risk management.
    • Develops and implements project-specific quality control.
    • Conducts inspections and documents deficiencies.
    • Schedules, coordinates, and documents required inspections and testing.
    • Assembles and forwards project closeout documents, including O&M manuals and warranties.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office; and in the use of Pro-core or other types of construction, software programs.
    • Working knowledge of construction industry standard specifications, FAR quality requirements, and federal construction quality management practices.
    • Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques.

    Education & Experience:

    REQUIRED

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of progressive construction experience, with at least 3 years in a Quality Control, Superintendent, or Project Manager role on federal or large commercial projects of $10M+.
    • Current Certification in Construction Quality Management for Contractors (USACE) or ability to obtain within 90 days of start date.
    • Experience with OSHA and EM 385-1-1.

    PREFERRED

    • PE, PMP, CGC, or equivalent state licensing/certification.
    • Prior experience as Quality Control Manager or Superintendent on USACE, NAVFAC, or VA projects.
    • Prior military experience.
    • First Aid/CPR.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working on-site.
    • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, noise, and dust.
    • Manual dexterity and physical stamina for handling tools and equipment
    • Valid Driver's License.
    • Travel is required.

    Work Environment:

    • Work is performed in both office settings and on construction sites.
    • Exposure to external weather conditions can include inclement, heat, and humidity.
    • Exposure to construction site environments, including noise, dust, and machinery.

    • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when on-site.
