Quality Control Manager Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead and oversee all quality assurance activities throughout the manufacturing process in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. This position is responsible for ensuring products meet company specifications and quality standards from initial production through final inspection and delivery readiness.

The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing quality systems, process improvement initiatives, team leadership, and product inspections. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality, improving operational efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Quality Management & Leadership

  • Supervise, mentor, and direct Quality Control personnel.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of production documentation and records.
  • Manage inspection activities and maintain quality documentation.

Inspection & Testing

  • Perform visual, mechanical, and functional inspections of products during and after manufacturing.
  • Conduct final inspections to ensure products meet specifications and are ready for delivery.
  • Perform product testing and road-readiness evaluations as applicable.
  • Inspect and evaluate purchased materials and components from vendors.
  • Accept, reject, or recommend corrective action for products that do not meet quality standards.
  • Identify defects, abnormalities, and non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions.

Process Improvement

  • Analyze quality data and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Recommend and implement initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and lower manufacturing costs.
  • Partner with production leadership to improve workmanship, product consistency, and overall product quality.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement efforts.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete and maintain inspection reports, quality records, certificates, and related documentation.
  • Ensure quality procedures are consistently followed throughout the organization.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and customer information.
  • Support compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Additional Duties

  • Perform minor product repairs and touch-ups when necessary.
  • Measure and record critical product dimensions and specifications.
  • Verify fluid levels, lubrication, and workmanship quality.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years of quality control or quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with quality management systems and inspection procedures.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives and manufacturing quality standards.

Preferred Experience

  • ISO 9000 experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
  • Six Sigma methodology experience.
  • Automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial manufacturing experience.

Work Hours

Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Salary

$80,000 - $110,000 per year

100% On-Site in Pittsfield, MA
