QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER

Job Summary:
The Aviation Quality Control (QC) Manager is responsible for administering and overseeing the organization's quality control and quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, manufacturer requirements, company policies, and industry standards. This position directs inspection activities, manages audits, monitors corrective actions, and ensures all aircraft maintenance and repair operations meet airworthiness and safety requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's Quality Control Manual and related quality procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, Part 145 Repair Station requirements, customer specifications, and manufacturer standards.
  • Monitor maintenance operations to verify adherence to approved data, technical publications, and company procedures.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with FAA inspectors, regulatory agencies, customer auditors, and quality representatives.
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes throughout maintenance operations.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory changes affecting maintenance and repair operations.
  • Supervise and coordinate all inspection activities performed by Quality Control Inspectors.
  • Ensure required inspections are completed and documented accurately.
  • Verify that maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations, and repairs comply with approved technical data.
  • Review and approve maintenance records, airworthiness documentation, and return-to-service paperwork.
  • Ensure proper calibration and control of inspection, measuring, and test equipment.
  • Investigate discrepancies, non-conformances, and quality issues
  • Ensure accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and quality documentation are maintained.
  • Oversee document control programs for manuals, technical publications, and regulatory records.
  • Verify traceability of parts, components, and materials.
  • Ensure retention of records in accordance with FAA regulations and company requirements.
  • Review and approve quality-related procedures and forms.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Management, Quality Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of aviation maintenance experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of quality control, quality assurance, or inspection management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, including Parts 43, 65, 91, 121, 135, and/or 145 as applicable.
  • Experience interpreting aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and technical publications.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems and audit processes.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
