About us
Cutting Edge Stoneworks fabricates and installs custom granite, quartz, quartzite, marble and porcelain countertops for homeowners, builders and designers across the Lake Norman area. Our founder's standard is simple: "If it's not good enough for me, it's not good enough for the client." Our Quality Control Inspector is the person who makes sure that standard holds on every piece.

The role
You are the final checkpoint before any piece leaves our shop for installation. You'll inspect finished countertops, backsplashes and vanity tops against the job paperwork and our quality standards, and you'll have the authority to stop a piece that doesn't meet them. This role suits someone who notices the details others miss and is comfortable saying "this isn't right yet."

What you'll do

• Inspect every finished piece for defects, including chips, cracks, scratches, polish issues and fill marks
• Verify sizing and dimensions against the shop paperwork and layout
• Check thickness, edge profile and edge quality for consistency across every piece in a job
• Check seam matching, vein direction and pattern flow where pieces join
• Confirm sink, faucet and cooktop cutouts match the paperwork
• Make sure every job matches its paperwork: correct material, color, piece count and specifications
• Reject pieces that don't meet our standards, document why, and work with the shop to get them corrected
• Complete and sign our QC inspection checklist for every job
• Ask questions whenever something looks off. We'd much rather you ask than guess.
• Log issues so we can spot patterns and fix them at the source

What we're looking for

• A highly detailed, organized person who takes pride in getting things right
• Confidence to reject work and hold the line on quality, respectfully
• Clear communication with fabricators, the shop foreman and the office
• Comfortable using a tape measure and calipers, reading measurements and following written specifications
• Reliable, punctual and consistent. This role only works if it's done the same way every time.
• Basic computer or tablet skills for paperwork and photos

Industry experience is a plus, not a requirement. If you have stone, countertop, cabinet, millwork or manufacturing QC experience, great. If not, we'll train the right person. We care more about your attention to detail and work ethic than your résumé.
