Quality Control Supervisor – Automotive Manufacturing
Location: Madison, Alabama
Shift: Second Shift (7:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
We are hiring a Quality Control Supervisor to lead second-shift quality operations at a fast-growing automotive manufacturing facility in Madison, Alabama. What You Will Do
- Lead and develop second shift quality technicians and inspectors
- Serve as the primary escalation point for quality concerns during production
- Partner closely with production to ensure quality standards are consistently met
- Drive containment, corrective actions, and root cause investigations
- Coach team members through real-time feedback and development conversations
- Monitor quality trends and implement improvement actions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and cost
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements and internal quality systems
- Maintain quality documentation and shift reporting
- Foster a strong culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork
Qualifications
- 3+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of leadership, lead, or supervisory experience
- Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- On-the-floor leadership role within a manufacturing environment—this is not a desk-based position
- Requires consistent standing, walking, and direct interaction with production processes and equipment
- Ability to lift up to 30–35 pounds as needed
- Must be able to support the demands of a second shift schedule (7:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
- Experience with root cause analysis tools (5 Why, Fishbone, A3, etc.)
- Understanding of SPC, GD&T, and quality inspection methods
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong communication and team leadership skills
- A hands-on leadership style and strong floor presence
- Measurement systems and inspection equipment
- Associate’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- GD&T interpretation
- Quality reporting and Excel analysis
- Continuous improvement methodologies (TPS/Lean a plus)
This is a hands-on production floor leadership role in a manufacturing environment. The position requires regular standing, walking, and direct engagement with production teams. This is an ideal fit for leaders who prefer being actively involved in operations rather than working in a purely administrative quality role.
