The Fountain Group is currently seeking aQuality Control Technicianfor a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Bay Point, CA. Details for the position are as follows:
 
 
Job Description: 
  • Pay rate: $26.50/hr W2
  • 13 – months assignment with potential for extension based on performance and budget.
  • 1st Shift: Tuesday to Saturday: 6am – 2:30pm.
  • Under general supervision, the individual will test chemical and physical properties of materials to determine their conformance to established formulas and standards.
 
Required skills:
  • High School Diploma or GED min required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing Quality Control testing environment is required.
  • Experience testing chemical and physical properties of materials to determine their conformance is required.
  • PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Excel (record test results) is required.
  • Experience wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adherence to the site safety practices, use of lab equipment, 5S, etc
  • Experience in adhesive, bonding, sealant, coating product testing preferred (they manufacture adhesives and bonding materials at this location)
  • Understanding of mathematical and statistical techniques relevant to adhesive product testing
  • Reporting of lab results and methods according to accepted company lab practices; results, reports and observations will be communicated to internal/external customers.
  • Records data in Excel or lab notebooks, processes documentation, computer databases such as SAP
  • Conducts all laboratory work in a safe manner including the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adherence to the site safety practices, use of lab equipment, 5S, etc
 
Responsibilities:
  • Perform standard quality control testing on incoming raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished goods according to defined specifications
  • Calculate and report test results, Record test data into SAP
  • File and maintain the retain samples; dispose of old retain samples
  • Maintain lab equipment in proper working order and perform equipment calibrations.
  • Complete and control the required quality records and/or documents as directed by the department standard operating procedures
  • Frequently sit, view a computer screen, and type on a keyboard for extended periods of times
  • Stand continuously and walk frequently during the shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and up to 25 lbs on a frequent basis during a shift
  • Work in a chemical lab handling chemicals (toluene), reagents, and finished product.
  • Climb and descend stairs routinely
  • Demonstrated excellent attendance and reliability
  • Flexibility to work overtime, extended shifts and/or other shifts on occasion
  • Knowledgeable safety systems and OSHA required standards
