Job Overview
Sigma Systems is seeking a Quality Control Technician to support Environmental Monitoring and Quality Control testing in a laboratory/production environment. This role is ideal for candidates with laboratory experience who are familiar with aseptic techniques, microbial testing, water sampling, documentation, and LIMS.
The Quality Control Technician will perform environmental monitoring activities, collect and analyze microbial samples, document test results, and ensure work is completed in accordance with quality and data integrity requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and maintain analytical techniques and methods used for Environmental Monitoring Quality Control testing
Conduct microbial sampling in production areas
Perform microbial enumeration and testing
Assist with microbial identification
Perform water sampling and monitoring
Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and testing records
Enter and manage laboratory data using LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
Follow established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and compliance requirements
Communicate testing results and relevant information with stakeholders
Work independently as well as collaboratively with laboratory and production teams
Provide training on applicable analytical techniques and methods as required
Qualifications
Associate degree from an accredited institution with 2–3 years of related experience, OR
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with 1–2 years of related laboratory experience
Previous laboratory experience required
Exposure to aseptic technique
Experience or familiarity with microbial testing, environmental monitoring, or water sampling is preferred
Familiarity with LIMS and laboratory documentation is a plus
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and schedule daily activities
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, compliance, and data integrity
Schedule & Work Environment
1st Shift: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Occasional 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM may be required
40 hours per week
On-site position in Gainesville, GA
4-month contract
Potential opportunity for full-time conversion
