Superior Recruiting Agency is seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician for a manufacturing opportunity in the local Hazleton area. This position is responsible for performing hands-on inspections throughout the production process to verify that finished and in-process products meet established quality requirements.
The Quality Control Technician will help identify potential quality concerns, maintain consistent inspection standards, and work with production personnel to ensure products meet specifications before being approved for shipment or further processing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Inspect raw materials, work-in-progress, and completed products to confirm they meet established quality requirements. Inspections may include steel, plastic, welded, and mechanically assembled components.
• Review manufacturing drawings and specifications to confirm component dimensions, tolerances, and other required product characteristics.
• Perform dimensional inspections using measurement and quality-control equipment such as calipers, height gauges, weld/fillet gauges, tape measures, and other inspection tools.
• Recognize products, materials, or manufacturing processes that do not meet established requirements and properly document and separate nonconforming items.
• Communicate quality issues to the appropriate management personnel so concerns can be reviewed and corrective action can be determined.
• Conduct required product testing according to established internal procedures and applicable industry standards.
• Record daily inspection findings and testing results using electronic quality and production tracking systems.
• Communicate inspection results, quality concerns, and other relevant information through email and available internal communication systems.
• Prepare or assist with nonconformance documentation, investigations into the cause of quality issues, and corrective-action processes.
• Follow up on corrective actions to confirm changes have been properly implemented and are successfully addressing the identified issue.
• Maintain accurate quality records, including tracking and documenting material lot information for products and components manufactured internally or obtained from outside suppliers.
• Monitor inspection and testing equipment to ensure required calibration is current and equipment remains suitable for accurate quality checks.
• Maintain required quality-control records and documentation in accordance with applicable manufacturing, quality, and industry requirements.
• Follow established workplace safety procedures and properly use all required personal protective equipment.
• Keep inspection areas, equipment, and the overall Quality Control workspace clean, organized, and ready for use.
• Work directly with production employees to clarify important specifications, component requirements, and quality expectations.
• Provide quality-related support to production personnel as needed to help prevent defects and maintain consistent manufacturing standards.
• Perform additional quality-control or manufacturing support responsibilities as assigned based on operational needs.

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Previous experience in quality control, quality assurance, manufacturing, fabrication, inspection, or a similar industrial environment is preferred.
• Ability to understand and work from manufacturing and production drawings, including dimensions, symbols, line types, orthographic views, and other technical drawing information.
• General knowledge of dimensional tolerances and the ability to accurately work with Imperial measurements, including fractions and decimals.
• Ability to convert measurements between fractions and decimals when performing inspections.
• Familiarity with metric measurements is beneficial.
• Experience using common dimensional inspection equipment, including calipers, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools.
• Basic computer proficiency, including experience working with programs such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and similar business applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly document and communicate quality-related information.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with production employees, supervisors, management, and other departments.
• Previous exposure to recognized quality-management or manufacturing compliance systems, such as ISO 9001, ICC-related standards, or comparable programs, is considered a plus.
• Comfortable working independently when necessary while also contributing effectively as part of a manufacturing and quality team.
