Job Summary:

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying aerospace components and assemblies to ensure compliance with internal specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the highest quality and safety standards in line with AS9100, FAA, and other regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of aerospace components and assemblies using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs).

  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions to ensure product compliance.

  • Document non-conformances and collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.

  • Maintain accurate inspection records, test data, and quality documentation in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

  • Assist in the calibration and maintenance of inspection and test equipment.

  • Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA, and customer-specific requirements.

  • Participate in internal audits and support external quality audits as needed.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety in all quality operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or technical certification preferred.

  • 2+ years of quality control experience in aerospace, defense, or a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and blueprint reading.

  • Proficiency with inspection tools and equipment (manual and automated).

  • Working knowledge of AS9100 and FAA regulations.

  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.

  • Basic computer skills; experience with ERP/MRP systems and quality databases is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with CMM programming and software (e.g., PC-DMIS or Zeiss CALYPSO).

  • Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) or other specialized aerospace inspection techniques.

  • Quality certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Six Sigma Green Belt.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing and inspection lab environment.

  • May require standing, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
