About the role
Arclin USA is currently looking for a Quality Control Technician II for our St Clair Cleveland, OH location. Reporting to the Quality Engineer, this role is responsible for supporting the St Clair Dispersions facility and providing a direct interface between the Quality Control Lab & Operations team. This role aims to provide Proactive Quality by completing line startup authorization, 1st piece verification & batch auditing. The role also carries product mastery by maintaining test method expertise. This position will monitor, test, and disposition finished products in the manufacturing area to ensure that it meets Arclin’s quality and performance standards. This role also performs laboratory analyses and testing, product development and customer applications projects, testing of new or modified company products and technologies while adhering to Arclin policies and procedures and applicable HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) rules and regulations.
Quality Control Technician Job Responsibilities:
· Performs work in compliance with all Arclin policies and procedures including HSE and regulatory requirements. Achieves personal objectives on time, on budget, within agreed quality and quantity parameters.
· Attends and/or completes annual training as prescribed by EHS.
· Completes Line Startup procedure for all production lines
· Provides 1st Piece Verification upon startup for all production lines
· Provides certified batch auditing for cureblends and other products as directed
· Assists with product inspections and audits
· Monitors, dispositions and sorts finished product to ensure that it meets Arclin’s quality and performance standards
· Applies creative thinking to new situations/opportunities while balancing creativity with practicality to achieve efficiencies
· Demonstrates initiative and contributes ideas for process and quality improvements where possible to save time, money or other resources
· Collaborates on project teams and shares knowledge with peers and other team members to assist in the productive flow of work
· Conduct application testing of raw materials, finished products, and some New Product Development, according to industry standards and utilizing proper statistical tools and established Arclin test procedures
· Maintain and operate lab equipment according to Arclin lab policies and procedures. Routinely investigate all lab equipment and arrange for service and repairs as required. Maintain adequate inventory of laboratory supplies.
· Maintain clean and safe environment in the lab including disposing of waste and safe handling of flammable and toxic chemicals in compliance with all HSE regulations
· Assist with the investigations of Customer Quality Complaints and Root Cause Analysis
· Other various tasks as assigned by the Quality Engineer.
Quality Control Technician II Job Requirements:
· Associates Degree in Chemistry or related field; OR significant, related on-the-job experience
· 0-3 years’ experience working in manufacturing OR an industrial laboratory environment
· Must be able to communicate verbally and to prepare reports with emphasis on technical clarity and accuracy
Preferred:
· Rubber Industry experience preferred
· Microsoft Windows apps knowledge i.e., Teams, Word, Excel, Adobe, Power Bi
· Able to acquire forklift certification
