Description

Quality Control Technician
Job Summary: The Quality Control (QC) Technician will test/inspect and power up various electrical panels/components that are manufactured in ACI's panel shop. The QC Technician is expected to be the final step to ensure that a quality product leaves the production floor.
Experience: Has a basic technical foundation. Will be expected to spend majority of time learning about different types of hardware/software that are used in the industry while testing equipment.
Job Expectations: Ensure all panels are assembled and wired correctly, including verify BOMs. To troubleshoot diagnose and determine root cause for electrical issues within controls panels. To document issues and guarantee that the issues are resolved before the panel leaves the ACI shop. Make recommendations on process improvement in areas identified.
Responsibilities: Test, document and sustain hardware and software control systems in the role of Quality Control Technician to support various panel builds. Contribute to projects as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
• Basic programing/ electrical design skills knowledge preferred.
• Ability to understand instructions and independently carry out instructed tasks.
• Detail and quality oriented. Must be comfortable reading and interpreting technical documentation including blueprints, construction specifications and other items.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with collaborating with project team members to define and deliver maintainable and reliable systems.
• Ability to work under deadlines, on short notice and support extended/off-hours when needed to support project or resolve manufacturing or engineering issues.
• Proficiency in MsOffice (Outlook, WORD, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams)
• Knowledge of safe working practices around moving and electrical equipment.
• Utilize equipment manuals, analytical skills, and test equipment to identify equipment problems and perform repairs.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Technical or Associates degree in engineering from an accredited university or equivalent program.
• Ability to research industry standards.
• Experience with industrial control systems.
• Working knowledge of Rockwell Automation & Siemens technology; including hardware, software, and communication protocols.
• Familiar with NEC codes and UL508A Regulations.
• Knowledge of ladder, logic, electrical, pneumatic, and understanding of mechanical sequencing of machinery.
• Understanding of Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).
• AUTOCAD skills, able to read schematic and assembly drawings.
• Identify faults and troubleshoot to find root cause.
• Proficient with written and verbal technical communication including generating reports and conducting group presentations.
• Panel Design experience including layout and wiring schematic development
• Prepare drawings using AutoCAD working within client guidelines and material report generation
• Create proper bills of material based on design and necessary control components and assemblies for production.
