  • Maintain accurate and organized records, reports, documentation, and retained samples.
  • Perform testing on incoming materials and finished goods as necessary, following established methods.
  • Complete extensive documentation and data entry to support batch release and quality processes.
  • Manage inventory and sample control, including labeling, tracking, and proper storage.
  • Participate in the batch release process by reviewing documentation and supporting quality checks.
  • Set up basic lab equipment and prepare media and materials for scientists and lab staff.
  • Perform basic sample preparation, including weighing samples and preparing them for analysis.
  • Wash laboratory glassware and equipment and help maintain a clean, organized lab environment.
  • Create and update specification sheets and related documentation for scientists and production teams.
  • Collaborate with the production team on the production floor to collect samples and support quality activities.
  • Assist with general lab organization, including inventory control and ensuring materials are properly labeled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support laboratory and quality control operations.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Two years of related experience, preferably in quality control.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and GMP guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail in documentation, data entry, and record keeping.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with documentation control and documentation review.
  • Experience with basic laboratory preparation and lab equipment handling.
  • Experience with inventory management and inventory control.
  • Interest in working in a laboratory and quality control environment.
  • High level of initiative and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SAP Business One is preferred.
  • Experience in GMP, QC, microbiology, or biology environments is beneficial.
  • Experience with batch records, labeling, and sample preparation is an advantage.
  • Comfort working with dishwashing and cleaning tasks in a lab setting.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple records, samples, and inventories.
  • Demonstrated interest in developing a career in laboratory or quality control roles.

Work Environment

The role is primarily based in a laboratory and production support setting, with approximately 75% of the day spent at a desk in a sample preparation area and the remainder on the production floor and in the warehouse. Desk-based work includes extensive computer use for data entry, documentation, and record management. Lab-based activities take place in a small laboratory area behind the desk, where the technician performs basic sample preparation, media preparation, equipment setup, dishwashing, and general lab organization. The position also involves time in the warehouse and on the production floor, where the technician traverses the production facility to collect samples and interact with production teams. The work requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, regular walking throughout the facility, and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
