Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Job Description

As a Quality Control Technician, you will be integral to our documentation and inventory management processes. You will participate in the batch release process and support laboratory operations by setting up equipment, preparing media, organizing materials, and creating specification sheets for scientists. Approximately 75% of your day will involve desk work in the sample preparation area, ensuring accurate record-keeping and data entry. You will also conduct basic sample preparation tasks, including washing dishes, weighing samples, and performing preparatory work for scientists.

Responsibilities

  • Provide entry-level support to manufacturing and quality control departments.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
  • Approve and maintain incoming materials for manufacturing.
  • Ensure compliance with all New Animal Drug Applications (NADAs) and Abbreviated New Animal Drug Applications (ANADAs).
  • Maintain approved stability programs.
  • Ensure that products meet quality requirements for both the customer and the company.
  • Maintain records, reports, and samples.
  • Perform testing on incoming materials and finished goods as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Document control and attention to detail.
  • High level of initiative and interest in laboratory work.
  • Experience with documentation and basic lab preparation.
  • Knowledge of GMP, Quality Control (QC), documentation review, batch record keeping, labeling, and lab equipment.
  • Experience in microbiology or biology.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and control.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Two years of related experience, preferably in quality control.
  • Ability to work in both team settings and independently.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Capacity to learn production sequences and company quality standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with SAP Business One is preferred.

Work Environment

The role involves desk work in the lab and warehouse settings. You will need to sit for prolonged periods at a desk, work on a computer, traverse the production facility, and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds. Traveling to off-site warehouses throughout the day is also required. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
