Summary:
The Senior Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting preproduction and finished-product materials, ensuring they meet quality standards, documenting inspection results, identifying nonconformances, and communicating quality issues. The role supports manufacturing and quality engineering teams, maintains quality records, participates in continuous improvement, and assists with customer complaints and corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspections on preproduction and finished-product materials.
- Meet or exceed weekly inspection and lot requirements.
- Record inspection results and transact materials in ERP systems.
- Document nonconformances and support Material Review Board (MRB) disposition.
- Review inspection priorities and complete inspections on time.
- Communicate quality findings to manufacturing, purchasing, quality leadership, and other stakeholders.
- Follow and enforce safety, health, business, and quality procedures.
- Manage, maintain, and archive inspection records, quality reports, and metrics.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement projects.
- Attend daily tier meetings, stage-gate reviews, and staff meetings as required.
- Work with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering to establish inspection criteria and processes.
- Assist with customer complaint investigations and corrective actions.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Quality Supervisor or Manager.
Required Skills
- Associate of Science degree or technology-related degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in quality inspection, manufacturing assembly, or an equivalent role.
- Knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes.
- Experience with Agile PLM and ERP systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Ability to read and follow written procedures and work instructions.
- Ability to read and understand layouts, mechanical drawings, and wiring schematics.
- Experience using inspection tools such as microscopes, calipers, micrometers, and inspection gauges.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload based on customer demand and schedules.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with supervisors, managers, employees, vendors, customers, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering.
- Ability to accurately enter and transact inspection information in computer and ERP systems.
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual onsite attendance.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to frequently get down on the floor and/or climb ladders.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods.
