The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that all plastic sheet products meet company quality standards and customer specifications. This position performs inspections, testing, measurements, documentation, and quality verification throughout the production process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect plastic sheet surfaces for defects and quality issues.
  • Measure product dimensions, including length, width, and squareness, using tape measures and precision instruments.
  • Utilize micrometers to verify product thickness.
  • Perform color verification using color measurement equipment.
  • Conduct shrinkage testing of plastic materials using laboratory ovens.
  • Collect and test production samples from manufacturing lines.
  • Accurately document inspection results, test data, and quality records.
  • Count and verify plastic sheet quantities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support production operations through cross-training to gain knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Assist with additional duties and projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills: Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Basic math proficiency.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift/Tow Motor experience.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience performing inventory cycle counts.
  • Familiarity with hand tools such as hammers, circular saws, table saws, band saws, and nail guns.
  • Previous plastic extrusion manufacturing experience and understanding of extrusion processes.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently stand and walk throughout the shift.
  • Regularly bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and reach.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Occasionally lift or move materials exceeding 100 pounds with assistance or equipment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand movements and operate measurement equipment.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and maintain visual focus for detailed inspections.
