The Quality Control Warehouse Worker is responsible to properly identify, maintain and update condition coding for all Katzman Produce product. They will have a full understanding of all Quality conditions and determine proper coding based on aging inventory. They will conduct in house inspections of our products coming into the warehouse and on existing products. Key responsibilities include, partnering with Buyers to determine if an USDA inspection is required, coding inbound product, and updating condition codes on current inventory.
Responsibilities/Duties
Prepare and maintain work records and reports of inspection results to ensure company is compliant with local/federal laws and regulations.
Audit inbound and outbound shipments for quality, as well as making discretionary decisions on older inventory.
Conduct daily hand off with relieving Quality Control personnel.
Follow through on inspections using calibration equipment, and complete assigned work with a sense of urgency following company procedures and guideline.
Notify Sales Team and Buyer of product with quality issues in the warehouse.
Proactive in improving quality control measures throughout the company by partnering with Sales Team, Head Foreman, Supervisors, and Warehousemen.
Understand and follows all safety procedures, and maintain a clean and safe work area. Work safely to prevent accidents, and take immediate action to correct any unsafe situation. Immediately report accidents or issues to Supervisor.
Operate powered equipment in a controlled and proper manner, if needed.
Facilitate customer needs and customer interactions.
Must maintain product knowledge and have very detailed commodity specific knowledge.
Must have the ability to train and cross train new and existing Team Members.
Update operations on all pending USDA inspections and any sensitive customer acknowledgements. I.E. National / Blue Apron etc.
Help coordinate with USDA Inspections.
Continually re-emphasize the importance of accuracy with the codes, and are encouraged to provide second opinions when other employees have uncertainties or questions
Periodically spot check the inventory and update the quality code
Print a daily report of all loads that came in on the previous shift, verify condition codes were entered correctly and spot check anything that may need a second opinion.

Physical Requirements:
You will be working in an open market exposed to the elements
Our warehouses are refrigerated, so you will be walking in and out of varying temperatures
This position is standing and moving around for 8-10 hours per shift
Ability to lift 50lbs multiple times a day

Pay: $20.00 per hour + $1.50 job premium
