Job Description Quality Coordinator Location: Fremont, CA Schedule: Monday Friday, 9:00 AM 6:00 PM Pay Rate: $28.00 $30.00 per hour Reports To: Assistant Operations Manager Production/Quality Control Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on Quality Coordinator to support quality operations on the manufacturing floor at our Fremont facility. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters on the shop floor and will work closely with Quality Inspectors and Production teams to maintain quality standards, drive continuous improvement, and support customer satisfaction initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have quality experience in a manufacturing environment, leadership experience, and strong knowledge of audits, containment, and corrective actions. Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain daily quality reports including all shift pass-down information
Support, mentor, and train Quality Inspectors
Lead containment actions and corrective/preventive actions for quality issues
Participate in internal audits (LPA, process audits, and product audits)
Support hiring, training, and follow-up for QC associates
Manage QC team scheduling and approve timecards
Initiate containment actions to prevent nonconforming product or process issues
Identify quality problems and help implement corrective actions
Maintain quality data collection and reporting
Facilitate continuous improvement activities on the production floor
Build strong working relationships between Quality and Production teams
Provide guidance and disciplinary support for the quality team when needed
Provide cross-shift support as required
Qualifications
Minimum 12 years of experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or a manufacturing environment
At least 1 year in a quality leadership or coordinator role (automotive industry experience preferred)
Experience with audits (LPA, process, product audits)
Experience with containment actions, nonconformance management, and corrective/preventive actions
Strong communication and leadership skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of SPC, color measurement, GAP, and Flush processes is a plus
Degree or certification in a related field is a plus
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
Ability to work on the shop floor and in an office environment
May require occasional travel (up to 10%)
