Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Quality Coordinator to inspect products and ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. The role involves performing inspections, preparing documentation, supporting internal audits, and working closely with production, suppliers, and third-party inspectors to maintain product quality. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment, strong knowledge of inspection tools and quality processes, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across teams.


Job Description

  • Inspects product to ensure compliance with order specifications, company quality standards, engineering requirements, and industry standards
  • Reads drawings to determine product dimensions and select the appropriate measurement tools
  • Uses inspection equipment (Faro Arm, height gages, thickness measurements, hardness tests, etc.) to perform product inspections
  • Develops and documents new approaches to resolve issues identified during quality analysis activities
  • Selects the inspection and test equipment required to support product inspection activities
  • Communicates and documents significant issues or developments identified during quality analysis
  • Interfaces with customer third-party inspectors, including the preparation of Certification Packages for internal and external customers (GD1)
  • Reviews outsourced processes for compliance with process codes
  • Compares material test reports with engineering specifications to determine acceptability
  • Prepares documentation packages in accordance with customer requirements
  • Performs liaison with suppliers to ensure receipt of acceptable material test reports
  • Completes internal audits based on ISO9001 requirements (GD2)
  • Participates in the Material Review Board (MRB), assigning disposition to non-conforming products
  • Participates in site audits and serves as the subject matter expert for MRB and ASL Processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor/manager

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum of 1 year of related production or mechanical assembly experience and/or training
  • Ability to learn the Quality Management System, document retention system, and related software
  • Working knowledge of inspection tools and standard equipment used in site operations
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing assembly environment; pump manufacturing experience preferred (GD3)
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, process documents, software manuals, safety rules, employee handbooks, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external contacts
  • Ability to support production needs, identify improvements, and effectively communicate opportunities and solutions
  • Ability to work collaboratively to accomplish common goals
  • Flexibility in supporting production activities while meeting company production and financial goals
  • Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to solve problems through creative solutions

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

 

Additional Requirements

  • Knowledge of First Article, NDE, In-Process and Final inspections
