Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.

    Job Summary:

The Quality Engineer will oversee and ensure the quality standards and processes throughout the battery pack manufacturing line. This role is critical in maintaining high product reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards. The engineer will collaborate closely with production, design, and supply chain teams to implement quality control measures, conduct root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes specific to battery pack assembly and testing.
    • Perform in-line inspections, process audits, and product testing to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
    • Analyze data from production and testing to identify trends, defects, and areas for improvement.
    • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues detected during production or post-production.
    • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure incoming components meet quality standards.
    • Support validation and qualification of new battery pack designs and manufacturing processes.
    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., UL, IEC, ISO standards) and customer requirements.
    • Document and maintain quality records, inspection reports, and quality control plans.
    • Provide training and guidance to production personnel on quality standards and procedures.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
    • Coordinate with the safety and reliability engineering teams to assess battery pack performance and durability.
    • Support internal and external audits related to quality and manufacturing processes.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field.
    • Proven experience (3+ years) in quality engineering within battery pack manufacturing or related industries (e.g., electronics, automotive).
    • Strong understanding of battery technologies, pack assembly processes, and safety standards.
    • Proficiency with quality management systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001.
    • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone), and quality improvement methodologies.
    • Experience with test equipment and data acquisition systems used in battery production.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Knowledge of Arbin cyclers, Amada welding machines, or similar battery testing and assembly equipment is a plus.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
    • Experience with battery cell screening, aging, and cycling.
    • Familiarity with software tools such as Minitab, JMP, or similar statistical analysis programs.
