Shift: 1st Shift | Monday – Thursday 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Friday 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (45–50 hours/week)

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 / year (Dependent on experience)

We are a tight-knit precision job shop manufacturer in Brook Park, OH specializing in high-tolerance custom components for high-stakes industries including aerospace, defense, and medical devices. Operating out of a modern, clean, 100% climate-controlled facility, our team maintains a collaborative, non-union environment focused on excellence. We are seeking a Quality Engineer to strengthen our quality management systems and drive continuous improvement across production.

Quality Engineer Role

The Quality Engineer analyzes product and process quality issues to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and minimize scrap. This position establishes standard work and controls manufacturing processes to ensure customer requirements and product integrity are consistently met.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities

• Execute customer validation projects including PFMEAs, process flow diagrams, Control Plans, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies
• Analyze quality issues to perform root cause investigations using 5-Why analysis and standard problem-solving techniques
• Manage Quality Management System (QMS) protocols, KPI creation, and corrective/preventative action (CAPA) programs
• Develop key metrics and prepare monthly quality reports for management review and CAPA board evaluations
• Focus on improving process capabilities across machining operations and special processes such as heat treating and plating
• Interface cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality control, and maintenance teams to resolve technical problems
• Establish standard work procedures to meet customer integrity requirements and maintain product quality goals
• Assist in identifying, analyzing, and disposing of nonconformances while supporting customer MRB reviews
• Review internal audit findings to establish risk mitigation countermeasures and preventive controls
• Facilitate training on newly deployed quality tools, procedures, and standards for shop floor and management personnel

Quality Engineer Reporting Relationships

This position reports directly to the Quality Manager and has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

About You

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent technical field
• Demonstrate professional quality engineering experience within a precision machine shop or manufacturing environment
• Possess thorough knowledge of quality principles, materials, assembly, testing, and manufacturing processes
• Exhibit strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
• Apply risk management techniques including PFMEA, Control Plans, and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Show familiarity with quality inspection methods and procedures related to military and commercial standards
• Maintain active CQE (ASQ) or CQA (ASQ) certifications (strongly preferred)
• Demonstrate strong technical capacity, analytical problem-solving skills, and communication proficiency
• Show initiative and capability to function effectively in a high-technology manufacturing setting

Work Environment & Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and shop noise. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The role requires frequently lifting and moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
