Eleven Recruiting is searching for an experienced Quality Engineer for a well-established, global aerospace and defense OEM in the greater Los Angeles area, for a temporary, six-month assignment. This role provides hands-on quality engineering support, helping ensure aerospace products and processes meet customer, regulatory, and Quality Management System requirements.
The Role
This assignment is well suited to a Quality Engineer who can get up to speed quickly, apply strong aerospace quality expertise, and work effectively across Engineering, Production, and Inspection. You'll support everything from customer quality requirements and First Article Inspection to nonconformance, corrective action, and proactive quality improvement. You'll also have the opportunity to share your expertise with others, providing technical guidance, training, and mentorship while helping strengthen quality practices across the operation.
Responsibilities:-
Apply strategic and critical thinking to Quality Management Systems and product quality activities.

Review customer contracts and purchase orders to identify and communicate applicable quality requirements.

Develop and implement quality procedures and metrics to support effective quality performance.

Partner with Production and Engineering to identify risks and implement proactive quality improvement strategies.

Conduct audits to assess technical capabilities, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.

Manage nonconformance, root cause, and corrective action activities to support effective resolution of quality issues.

Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior engineers and inspection personnel.
Qualifications:-
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.

ASQ certification such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or 7 years of relevant aerospace quality engineering experience.

Extensive knowledge of aerospace products and processes, together with a strong understanding of quality engineering principles and regulatory administration.

Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection and tools such as DISCUS and Net-Inspect.

Strong experience conducting root cause and corrective action investigations.

Ability to work effectively across Production, Engineering, and Quality while communicating technical and quality requirements to internal and external stakeholders.

Technical confidence to provide guidance, training, and mentorship to other Quality and Inspection professionals.
